Cookies and Similar Technologies
What the Academy stores in your browser, why essential cookies are needed, and how preference or third-party technologies are handled.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text values stored by a website in a browser. Session cookies usually expire when a session ends; persistent cookies remain for a defined period. Similar browser storage may perform related functions.
Strictly necessary cookies
Moodle and the Academy use essential session, login, security, load-balancing, and request-integrity technologies so pages, accounts, carts, language changes, payments, and protected learning work safely. Disabling them may prevent login, checkout, saved cart state, or lesson access. These technologies are not used for advertising.
Preference storage
- Language settings keep Arabic or English consistent while navigating.
- The MUSING_CURRENCY preference remembers the selected display currency for up to 1 year, or until changed or cleared.
- The MUSING_CONSENT preference records your accept or decline choice for optional interaction tracking for up to 1 year, or until changed or cleared, so the same choice is not repeatedly requested.
- A cart or purchase-continuation value is held only for the duration of your logged-in session and is not a persistent cookie.
Payments, video, and external services
Opening a payment gateway, protected video player, or external link may allow that provider to set or read its own cookies under its policy. We limit integrations to services needed for Academy delivery, but third-party retention and controls are governed by those providers.
Analytics and optional technologies
The Academy uses a first-party MUSING_CONSENT cookie to gate optional, non-identifying interaction counts, such as page views and clicks on catalog, cart, and checkout pages. No cookie-based behavioural advertising is used. A banner offers a clear accept or refuse choice before this optional counting begins; declining stops it entirely and does not affect cookies required to run the Academy itself.
Your controls
You can remove or block cookies through browser settings. Essential functionality may stop working if necessary cookies are blocked. Refusing optional cookies is as easy as accepting them, and clearing the MUSING_CONSENT cookie re-opens the choice and stops future optional processing immediately.
Updates and contact
Cookie names and durations can change when Moodle, security, payment, or video services are updated. We will revise this page when a material new category is introduced. Contact us if you need information about a browser value observed on the Academy domain.
